Tasman Power is proud to join Rio Tinto’s distinguished list of award winners and remains committed to the pursuit of excellence in all our endeavours.

The Supplier Recognition Awards honour our valued suppliers for their outstanding performance and the contributions they make to our business and the local community. This year, about 180 suppliers were nominated for awards across nine categories.

Rio Tinto Iron Ore Chief Executive, Simon Trott, praised the award winners, saying, “In the communities where we operate, we work hard to partner with and develop local businesses so they can share in our success and create jobs for local people.” He emphasised Rio Tinto’s aspiration to be a customer of choice within the WA business community. Emphasised something.

Western Australian Premier Mark McGowan congratulated all winners and acknowledged Rio Tinto’s commitment to recognising WA suppliers and businesses. “WA local content and local jobs is the backbone of our economy and communities… Increasing the volume and quality of local work in WA will support jobs and create a long pipeline of work into the future for the benefit of generations to come,” he said.

The Health & Safety Award won by Tasman Power recognizes businesses that demonstrate leading safety performance on a WA site and contribute to making a safer site, beyond their own scope of work. This accolade is a testament to Tasman Power’s dedication to safety, and we are honoured to share this exceptional news with our community.
