Heavymech is a machining & general engineering company with a long history of versatility and a demonstrated ability to adapt to the customer’s requirements.
Our existing range of precision machining equipment has satisfied the needs of medium to large machining projects for over 50 years and holds us in good stead today.
Our Adelaide based machine shop is home to some of the largest machine tools available in South Australia, where we operate both conventional and CNC machinery in accordance with our client’s needs. The Adelaide machine shop is supported by the machining capabilities of the Whyalla Division where we operate three medium to large capability CNC machines along with an assortment of other conventional machine tools satisfying a wide range of machining requirements from light to heavy duty. In addition to our machining services, both the Adelaide and Whyalla workshops are very capable and well fitted out mechanical workshops which provide services such as dismantling, inspection and overhaul of mechanical equipment.
Complementing the machine shops in Adelaide and Whyalla is the Mount Isa Division, which provides a high quality fabrication and forging service into the region. In keeping with a longstanding commitment to Mount Isa Mines, we are the only fabricating workshop in Mount Isa that has a Furnace and Upsetter to forge a range of furnace bars. At our Mount Isa workshop we are stocking over 200 mining consumable items, we are able to fabricate all types of customised steel products as required, as well as replace or repair Rotable items.
In addition to our machining capabilities, Heavymech provides support services such as Weld Reclamation, Metal Spray Application, Condition Reporting (DIR), Mechanical Overhauls, Site Maintenance and Repairs, White Metal Bearing Scraping and In Situ Line Boring on application. Our site services group can provide support to local plant operators and mine operators seeking additional labour on down days or for breakdown tasks. Our services are primarily based on the mechanical trades.
