Future Power WA is a locally owned and operated organisation specialising in all aspects of high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) electrical, communications, and renewable energy system design, construction, and maintenance.
We are looking for a motivated, experienced, and detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Office Administrator to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong accounting background, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work across a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment. Primary Functions:
As a Bookkeeper / Office Administrator, you will be responsible for managing the financial and administrative operations of the company. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Reconcile accounts payable on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Prepare monthly financial reports, cashflow forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
- Complete bank reconciliations as needed.
- Ensure timely weekly and monthly vendor payments.
- Enter timesheets into the payroll system.
- Prepare and process superannuation payments.
- Manage the onboarding of new staff and ensure all paperwork is complete.
- Reconcile payroll monthly and assist with payroll-related queries.
- Assist with payroll year-end processing.
- Follow up on outstanding invoices and assist with collections.
- Process employee expenses in a timely manner.
- Manage company credit card transactions, including reconciliations and obtaining receipts from cardholders.
- Fulfill all statutory obligations such as BAS, Payroll Tax, Superannuation, Child Support, Construction Industry Long Service Leave, etc.
- Prepare and manage work-in-progress reports.
- Arrange and monitor insurance claims and manage company assets effectively.
- Ensure compliance with quality, health, safety, and environmental systems.
Secondary Functions:
- Oversee bank guarantees and retentions.
- Submit and manage insurance claims.
- Assist with additional administrative duties as required.
Skills & Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:
- Certificate IV in Accounting/Bookkeeping (minimum) or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar bookkeeping or office administration role, ideally in the engineering, construction, or communication industry.
- Proficient in MYOB and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong knowledge of Australian tax, BAS, superannuation, payroll tax, and compliance requirements.
- Experience with payroll systems and processing (including timesheets, superannuation, and leave management).
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to identify issues and find practical solutions to financial and administrative challenges.
- A proactive, can-do attitude with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
