Quarry & Mining Manufacture (QMM) is a subsidiary of Tasmea Limited and we offer a comprehensive range of design, manufacture, fabrication, and maintenance services to construction materials (concrete, quarrying, cement, asphalt), mining, minerals, infrastructure, recycling and metal refining sectors.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our team on a full-time basis. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment within our fixed plant facilities. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Your role will include (but not limited to):

  • Install, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment such as crushers, conveyors, pumps, and screens within the fixed plant.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability and optimal performance.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues and troubleshoot equipment failures, implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Perform mechanical fitting tasks including assembly, disassembly, alignment, and adjustment of components and machinery.
  • Collaborate with other members of the maintenance team and departmental staff to coordinate maintenance schedules and prioritize tasks.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures at all times, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and equipment condition.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Certificate III including at least 2 years of on-the-job training or Certificate IV or at least three years of relevant experience in lieu of formal qualification
  • At least two years of relevant work experience
  • HRL Forklift (hold or able to obtain)
  • Dogging ticket (advantageous)
  • Rigging ticket (advantageous)
  • Experience working in a similar workshop role.
  • Safety, Health & Environment awareness, and experience.

All candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical with drug & alcohol tests as part of the recruitment process.
